Glen Lake Library

Empire, MI

Architect: Quinn Evans

Designed by Quinn Evans Architects, the scale and vernacular of the new Glen Lake Library fits perfectly in this small town in northern Michigan. Nestled between storefronts and houses, the library is light and welcoming, both inside and out.

Nature is a big part of the community so they integrated such elements into the children’s space.  Leaf cut-outs were selected on mobile book bins.  Frog, squirrel and other creatures top the end caps adding delight and warmth to the space. Simple and timeless styling with a playfulness added to a perfect aesthetic for this small town library.

Our Dottie’s maple shell and style coordinates nicely with our Eisenhower Chairs, classic with a touch of modern styling, pictured below in the adult section.
